SiR Bumpers.. Help
Hello all. I am new to the CRX site, and just purchased a 1991 Honda CRX
The first thing i would like to do is purchase a SiR Front end conversion. I see that passwordjdm has a great deal here: http://passwordjdm.com/JDM-EF-....aspx
Is this a EF8 or EF9 front end, and if it is, what is the difference between the EF8 and EF9? Is either one better? Also is this a great offer for the money? Because its exactly what i'm looking for
Please help me out.

that link is for a EF8 front end conv.(crx)
ef9 are made for civic. there are differences between them ie: civic have the filler peice under neath the headlight where as crx dont. corners lights/bumpers. to lazy to search for pics. but just google it. and try to see yourself. really noticeable.
btw, i bought my ef8 front end at a local importer shop for $600.00 missing fenders but still a great deal. i would search around before stepping foot into only one store you have seen.

Thank you for the quick responses. I now see that the EF9 is indeed civic hatchbacks, or civics!
Im guessing that the fitment will be just fine and everything because it is OEM. I see hmotorsonline has them for around 1100 used. Not many shops around here where i live

be aware that you also need to buy an ef8 hood, that password jdm kit doesnt come with a hood, you can choose either carbon fiber or metal, regardless, look to be spend spending more moeney to add a hood. i paid 700$ for my full kit, bumper, hood, headlights, corner lights, marker lights etc.
also be aware that you do not need to purchase fenders, your stock fenders are exactly the same as ef8 fenders, well not exactly the same, only difference is if you wish to have the side markers install you need to have the holes cut in your stock fenders and buy a set of side markers for about 10$ off ebay.
this can be done by yourself with a dremel tool, or very cheap at any body shop.

I did relize that about the hood, and yikes that is some serious $$$. My CRX did not come with fenders lol, but i would imagine i could find some somewhere, rather then spending 300 dollars on Passwords.
If i cut my own sidemarker holes, would i have to worry about rust later on? Or would the rust be eliminated by using rust-oleum paint or something?

when you cut your fenders for sidemarkers, its very simple to prevent rust. what i did was mask off the entire fender with newspaper and as close to the hole as possible, and i just sprayed a couple of coats of black rust prevention paint on the bare metal. the only bare metal will be on the inside edges of the holes. and when you install the markers this will cover the hole and cover the paint that is sealing the metal from rust.
very simple and straight forward.

I purchased the whole front end from passwordjdm with a carbon hood and it is a little spendy but i couldn't be happier with my front end. the bumper, hood, corner, bumper and side marker lights are all brand new. looks awesome on my car.

if you can afford a crx sir front end you can afford the proper fog lights.
but if the bumper is brand new i dont suggest adding foglights because they require cutting out thoes perfectly good pieces of plastic. essentially ruining the bumper/

Agreed, if your going to do it, do it right and buy the proper fogs.
I have one of these perfect bumpers for my car, but could never bring myself to start cutting holes into it
