Tranny swap - clutch/ pressure plate/ flywheel combo
I can't seem to find the info I need with the search tool. Maybe I'm just not understanding correctly...I emailed a couple of distributors about this but haven't got any response, it's been a couple of days now.
Anyways, here's the question:
I've got a '91 STD that needs a new tranny
I've also got an '88 Si tranny that needs a new home
Which flywheel will I need to use?
Which year clutch?
Which year pressure plate?
Any difference in the throwout bearing for those years?
Does someone sell a complete kit?
thanks!

get a clutch kit for an 88 si , it should include everything you need. use your flywheel, but have it resurfaced at your local machine shop, or at the very least sand it down evenly with an orbital sander.
you can't use the 91 flywheel with the 88 clutch - the 88 clutch is 200mm diameter - the 91 flywheel is for a 212mm diameter clutch - bolt holes for pressure plate won't line up
download this pdf file. its all about what clutch and flywheel to use. it help me a lot so it should also help you.
