Default My aftermarket radio will store the clock time, but wont save the radio presets---

Hey all---

My JVC KW-AVX810 headunit used to work perfectly until I installed an HD Tuner.

Now, everytime I turn the car on, the clock on the radio stores the correct time but it does not remember the radio presets.

I know it stores it beacuse when I save it, and use the car for a while the presets are stored.

Take the car off to go in some place and turn the car back on the clock is correct but the radio presets are gone.

Just to clarify when I refer to the clock I'm refering to the clock on my aftermarket radio, not the one built into the car.

When I connected the power to the HD tuner I just spliced it into the accessory power source to the headunit. I did not splice it into the constant power source to the headunit.

Just as a side note. When I first connected everything the clock time wasn't being kept either. When I chcked the connection of the constant wire it was loose. So i made sure it was tight and set in there really well and since then it started storing the clock, equalizer settings, dim settings on the screen etc... just no presets...

any suggestions would be really apprecaited

the tuner should be connected to constant to hold the preset cause i belive the tuner is now going though the hd part and not the actual radio.

man i'm a retard. i justifed in my mind why the unit should be hooked up to an ACC source so for that reason I didn't even look at the instructions.

and just beacuse of your suggestion i decied to look up the install instructions just for the hell of it. and wouldntya know it it says to specificaly connect it either directly to the battery or at least directly to a constant power source.

so that should solve my problem! thanks bro!
