Really annoying tranny problem, need help explaining to tech
Hello everyone,
So I have a 4 month old 2008 Accord Coupe V4 and I am experiencing a very frustrating issue with the transmission....
Only when the car is cold in the morning or when i leave from work and it hasn't been driven for 6 hours or so, when I am stopped and accelerate to about 3,000 RPM and the car shifts to second gear, I get a moderately strong jerk, the tires chirp, and the light with the triangle and the exclamation point goes on.... After about 30 minutes of driving the issue goes away.
Now, I went to the Honda dealership this morning and I had been driving for about 20 minutes or so, and of course by the time the tech guy got in there to drive the car the problem was not present, so I left the car there and I am going to head back when i get off work at 6pm to drive it myself and show him the issue....
So, I was hoping someone could give me some help in regards to this issue, because even when I described the issue to him he said it was normal for the car to do this when its cold because the RPM's are higher... I personally disagree considering I have driven a number of cars, old and new, and this has never happened.
Let me know what you think!!!

Not normal at all. I was a dealer tech before going solo....whoever told you this was probably the low level tech sent to go on test rides.
Ask that the team leader or shop foreman or service manager go on a ride with you.
Sounds like a TC lock-up issue or just an internal fault with the trans.
The triangle warning lamp is for TCS

Ah thanks EVS, now at least i know im not crazy when i go there later today... What does TC stand for when you said "TC Lock-up" ?
Also, im kinda curious as to why this problem only happens when the car is cold... do you think that has something to do with the transmission fluid or a sensor?
Anyways, ill keep everyone updated... T-5 hours till i go in for round 2
