Default good header for ls/v? hytech replica

i have a ls/v with some stage 1 cams, and was looking to buy a new header, since my last one only had a 2" collector, and was restricting the flow pretty bad...

i was looking at this hytech tri y replica on ebay, but someone said they were also too restrictive. anyone vouche, or disagree with that?

url for reference:

yeah, everyone keeps telling me "its cheap for a reason!!", but i know hytech is a good brand, and if indeed it is a replica, theres no reason why it should affect my performance in a negative way at all, even if they do skimp on the material or something else.

yeah, they look clean.

i just dont know if its normal to have the individual pipes that much smaller than the collector. thats what my old one looked like and they said it was restrictive...

i think its more of a price difference for reps to real ones. as of everything else but i dont think ppl should dog the hytech rep. so much wen it makes power and its 300 dollars. yea its a rep. header but not everyone has 900 dollars to spend on a goddamn header to make a couple more horses than a rep. yeah quality but ive seen lots of hytech rep. headers last a while with no kind of issues. as for other replica parts besides headers yeahhh not so much.

You wanna spend $1k on a name brand header, go at it, no ones stopping you. Like mentioned above, there's no reason to rag on reps, it's the same ****, all your paying for is a name, and better quality... If it does the job for 1/4 the price, then good for it... No need to call anyone a noob cause you like to over pay for your stuff.

I've bought, and seen many off brand parts compete with name brands, so keep your comments to your self if you have no useful advice, please

It's not just the name a quality you're paying for, it's the R&D and the design the original company came up with. If everyone was cheaping out like that, there wouldn't be companies developing new stuff, and we wouldn't have awesome products to choose from.

Seems like the Honda crowd is at least starting to grow up... you should play with 240SXs sometime!

I'd buy the fake hytech from sublimnal or TDM on Honda-tech. Not from ebay...

The H-T ones are pretty legit, got one myself.. I've seen crazy numbers out of cars that have these and can't wait to dyno my stock B20/Vtec >

God forbid anything happen to our uncorruted, blooming economy from me buying a header from an American that will most likely spend it here, in the U.S. Of A. great logic.

Yet the profit goes to who? The manufactures who are, where? In japan.

You can't even drive down the road without giving money to another country...

I think he meant that buying a header that's designed, tested and fabricated in the USA by an American using American steel will support the economy. But, I can see the flaw in that logic now that you use emoticons.

It's not about the profit off each car, it's that the workers who build the cars are americans, not only is HOA creating jobs here, but they are also putting money back into our economy. If you want to point that finger look at the older cars and the few now that are still made in Japan and imported.
