Hey guys,
id like to thank all of you beforehand so here it goes..

a few days ago (maybe even a few weeks), i started hearing this annoying rattling noise (kinda like when you're shaking a spray can) from about 1.6k-1.9k RPM's both accelerating and decelerating. I first thought it was the tranny or something but after i started smelling exhaust fumes i took a look at the headers/cat. i jacked it up and had my girl pull the accelerator, a few times so i could determine where the sound was coming from. and in fact it was coming from the cat. so i tried a few things to see if something was loose or banging against it but when i applied pressure to the top part with a flat head (while my girl pulled the accelerator) i could definitely feel it was the cat. the thing is, the cat is only bolted on to the headers, and welded on to the exhaust itself (2.5in 3.5out "custom" <--- in other words no name) so heres my question to you guys... should i buy a new cat and take it to a muffler shop so they can remove/attach it, or should i just buy a new exhaust system (the ones that have the cat conv on it). I'm not sure on the price difference but i hear the cat conv. itself is pretty pricey. Let me know what you guys think and what kind of exhaust you'd recommend (if you think i should just get a new system). Thanks a bunch


-btw i have 97 Dx jdm b16 (SiRII i believe) with 4-2-1 DC headers
