Default 1997 ACCORD EX TRANNY REPLACED WITH AN LX

I am putting my Accord EX back together. My trans started slipping and so I found a junkyard with an LX trans($700) installed and had it replaced. My problem is the trans won't do over 70 mph and my dash keeps showing the trans flashing. I had to take car to another shop and they say I have a bad solenoid which may not allow the trans to go to overdrive??? Can anyone help me I have had the car since new and other then this she been GOOD to me. Does anyone know a Great shop or Mechanic in the Chicago area?? THANK YOU

Any check engine lights? $700 for a transmission is kind of steep for a junkyard price. Maybe it varies by your region.

If you have a CEL on go to autozone and they can scan it for you for free to see what the problem is. Do the RPM's jump around crazy? How's idling RPM's?

a blinking d4 light may indicate that the solenoid lcated on the front of the transmission has gone bad/may not be hooked up......it is an easy fix you can do yourself if thats the problem

$700 was installed and I did think it was a little high. I do have a blinking D4 light and would the solenoid stop the car from going to overdrive?? Should I replace both solenoids on the trans and where can I get them at a low $$.
