s2k problems happened today.
whatsup, i was driving today, and my car started bogging after taking off, i took off normal and i thought i was in 3rd gear, then i checked, it was in first then i started running on 2 or 3 cylinders, cel popped and i just drove about a mile to my buds house to check it out. did compression on all cylinders is anywhere from 210 to 215, they all hold compression for over a minute, no leaking. plugs were all good so im thinking possibly the coil?
codes i get are cylinder missfires in cylinder 1 and 3 and also pops up manufacture cel of p1399 ..
to check my coil packs i got my volt meter and checked oams of resistance on prongs 1 and 2. got .493 .495 . 498 and one was .545 .. so im thinking its that one. but im not sure if that is enough to be sure, im not even sure if that is the proper procedure to check if a coil is bad. anyone have any insight, thanks! did search :-P

i have 4 bars. i dont think your serious, but just in case, always 91 octane and its got 4 bars, AND im throwing a cel of misfires in cylinders 1 and 3 and p1399
if it was map sensor it would throw a code about pressure, ill double check, i have a snap on sensor tester and ill check voltages. any other ideas?
also if anyone knows a good way to test the ignition coils that would be great. unless teh way i did it is correct.

see i red that but i dont think a faulty map sensor would cause my car to run on less than 4 cylinders, if it detected or were unable to detect map, it would just run in limp mode, not 2 cylinders, lol my car sounds like a wrx
if you are having a serious misfire problem in a cylinder (the cel is flashing once a second) then you computer could be shutting down fuel and spark to that cylinder. I'd swap coils and see if the problem follows that coil. misfires can be a lot of things thou but iit sounds like you are on the right track. happy hunting!
alright so i fixed it. coil pack went out, i drove and got the hard code of cylind 2 misfire. moved coilpack, drove another 10 miles and then got another hard code of cylinder 1 so i swapped out the coilpack and it works. got it from a junkyard in chula vista for like 50 bux. so that was pretty awsome. Thanks for the input everyone. BTW lookup ur recalls, i just got free taillights and seatbelt retractors and sparkplugs because of safety recalls on my car, i get it back tomorrow

You car is not in limp mode, you have a TOTALLY different problem.
