Default messed up idle?

I have a 95 gsr and when I start up my car it will sit a 3k and then when it startes to warm up it will bounce from 2k to 3k, guessing its my tps sensor? i will occasionaly throw a cel but there are no places in town that have a obdI tester. any opinions on what it could be or what to do?

You could have an air lock in your cooling system, or your primary O2 sensor could be bad...

The primary is the one before the cat. There should be two O2 sensors, one before the cat determining if the air/fuel mixture is correct, and one after to determine if the cat is doing the correct job.

but most of the time im not throwing a code only everyone once in awhile and it goes away so i wouldnbt think it would be a bad sensor because i would always be throwing a code, maby i could have a vacume leak?

it sounds like it could be your IAC valve. i had a similar problem in my teg all i did was remove it and clean it with some carb cleaner.

your car is OBD1... it only has 1 O2 sensor which is before the cat... try cleaning your IACV first and then move to other areas

what all is done to your car? (engine mods) why don't you try reading the code your self manually with a paper clip , i think the connector is in the passenger kick panel ,someone help me out im not 100% sure where it is but you have to ground the connector out with the paper clip and read how many times the check engine light flashes, long flashes are the first digit and the fast flashes are the second digit of the code

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=978933 Look in here it will tell u where to find and how to read ur CEL. also about ur idel problem, get a can of brake cleaner and spray around the gaskets on the intake manifold. just do one area at a time and see if the problem gets better. if it does in a certian spot thats the gasket that needs replaced. the most common is the throttle body gasket. Hope that info helps.

Yes, a bad alternator would mean a fluctuation in battery power and your car would struggle to stay running

hmm... thanks for the info i think that might be why I have a bad idle... reason I say my alternator is bad is because my lights (cluster and headlights) flicker and/or dim at different loads or rpms
