Honda coilovers on a 1984 Ford Temp?
Q: Will coilovers made for a honda (unsure of model) fit a 1985 ford tempo?
Before I get flamed, this is for a friend that doesn't have a honda-tech account. You can look me up, I've been here for a long time, I drive a DB thats pretty clean :], and I would never ever think about even touching an american car, yet alone a 1984 ford tempo. I doubt anyone would know the answer to this rediculous question except for the guys here at honda-tech.
Heres my DB
:
He has a 1984 ford tempo with 30,000 miles on it and wants to turn it into a rat rod sort of deal. Before you judge him he has a fully restored show winning 1955 bel air, 1987 integra rs, 2001 dc2 as his daily, and his grandpa just gave him the tempo and he wants to toy around with it.
Its currently at the body shop getting a satin black paint job with red pin stripping.
There is absolutely no after market support for this car yet alone coilovers. He also refuses to cut the springs because he wants to keep the stock parts in tact on the side. He also tried to source some used springs but those were impossible to find also. So he thought maybe coilovers made for a honda might fit.
Damn sorry for such a long story. But any help would be really great.

Short answer, no.
Long answer, not without some heavy and pointless fabrication.
Those cars had McPherson struts at all four corners. He'd be better off looking into suspension components for mid/late-'80s era Escorts, which were apparently similar.

If so, that should also open up the same era Mazda 323 as a donor.
