Hi there, new to the site! I have a 92 Accord EX with a 4 speed automatic transmission that recently has been slipping out of gear, not shifting past second and slamming really hard into gear. My overdrive is none existent at this point I was wondering has anyone else experienced this? Did you wind up replacing the tranny? If so, I've heard its not that much more to convert it to a 5-speed manual, what is your opinion on this? Thanks!

 

Have you tried a drain and fill? Drain the Tranny and Refill. I hear you are supposed to do this 3x's.

You could always have the Tranny Rebuilt or go to junkyard and buy another one.

iv had 3 trannys go bad in that gen of accords i tried new everything i had the sam problem no overdrive wouldnt go past second gear and all that

took it to the junkyard bought a 35$ computer for it drives like new...

and this is after i went a bought the same car but a 5speed haha so now i guess i have two cars

 

Thanks so much! I just got the car about two months ago from a client of mine, i know she had the computer replaced once before because it short circuited and caught fire... Lets hope that doesnt happen this time... I will def start there first. Thanks so much for the tip!

i had the same prob and i just went ahead and bought a jdm auto trans

 

and i also replace the tcu and it was acting the same
