Idle problem after rebuild B18C1
I was wondering if anyone may be able to offer some advice on what I need to do. I just rebuilt my engine in my 2000 GSR with some mods. Bored 40 over, oversize pistons and rings; stage 2 clutch and lightweight flywheel; type R camshaft kit w/ springs. I believe everything else was stock. It has factory exhaust for now, and it already had a header and cold air intake before the build. Now it doesn't seem to want to idle correctly. Sometimes when I first start it up it idles really low (2 -300) and when I give it gas it will idle up to about (2500) and then maybe back down to about (1500). It seems to drive fine, but I can't really tell because I am still in the break-in period (about 200 miles so far). A lot of people that I talked to about it says I need to re-map the ECU. I have called around with no luck at this point for a shop that can do that. Can anyone tell me what my options are? Replace the ECU with type r? Remap mine? I have already put about all the funds I had into the build. I didn't realize that I would run into this problem or I would have went with stock cams. I trust the guys work, he built my wife's eclipse engine. He just don't know anything about ECU's etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks...
