Default H22 Cams... Pro1's or Blox Bs?

I remember in Parris's thread they did some cam testing and they mentioned the Blox B's made the most power. I am wondering how they would compare to Skunk2 PRO1's for the h22. Another tuner told me that they have similar profiles so the big question is which one would be more ideal on a street car (trying to redline at 8k only) Or how would the pro2s even fair out? How high are people taking their pro2 h22s? Thanks for any advice i searched for any older debate threads and theres nothing for the H's

Hi,

i got the Pro 1+ in my EDM Accord Type-R H22A7. The are very good street cams, the low and mid range is top, but the Vtec profil is only a lil bit more aggressive as the Non-Vtec profil, so the Vtec is not noticeable. The made power all the way to 8300 rpm there is my rev limit (8600 is possible) and Vtec Crossover is set at 6300 rpm.

How good your cams will work depends on your setup and on your tuner, the Pro 1+ are not easy to tune!!!

The Pro 2+ ( i friend of mine got the same) are very similar to the Pro1+, the low range are the same, the Pro 1+ make a lil bit more power than Pro 2+ in the mid range, but the Vtec profil is more aggressive, Vtec is noticable and the peak power is much more!!!

My Setup:

K&N panel filter
64,2 mm TB (stock 62mm)
Accord Type-R intake manifold (same as Euro-R)
Hytech Custom header
200 cells cat
2,5" catback
Skunk2 Pro 1+ camshaft kit
ported and polished head
JE pistons (87mm, stock)
sleeved block
Eagle connections rods
Haltech E6X ecu

243 hp @ 7660 rpm & 176 lbs-ft @ 5380 rpm on the flywheel

Sorry i don`t how to upload the dyno here.

PS: Are Blox cams not only a copie of the Skunk2 Tuner Series and i only found on the "BXCM-20920 BLOX Custom Camshafts, Semi-blanks, H22A VTEC motors" on the Blox homepage. Were did you found the B`s??

OP - if you're not looking to rev very high I would do the Pro1's. Make sure you use adequate VT, also if the cylinder head has high mileage with stock valves, I would strongly rec. replacing the valves.

The highest we take the PED am street car is 8700 on the blox B cams, we now are swithcing to Ferrea Roller Rockers because of to much wear on the stock rocker pads and of course to run a custom cam. You need to improve oiling to your head and you high quality oil at all times (Royal Purple) or you will have rocker wear

I have a question ok i had skunk2 turbo stage1 cams in my car tell it broke on me.... i only drove it around 10 miles it looked like it was rusty and it just broke... I then am buying blox type b for my h22..... my question is will this give me about the same amount of power that the skunk2 did....
What is done to it is i have crower springs and retainers and valves... port and polished head.... new head totally redone so it has no miles on it... bottom end has 90,000 miles and it is stock, 350 rc injectors, ported out intake manifold, bigger fuel regulator and fuel rail.... and meagan racing header, and and light weight adjustable cam gears...
my questions to that is how much power will i increase?
will it be the same amount of power then the the blox and skunk?
and what will my motor rev up to im very new to this... all i no is that the lift is way bigger and the duration is 50 degrees longer

Blox type B's are a more aggressive than Skunk2 Turbo 1's. The potential with them in an N/A application is greater compared to the Turbo 1's. Your motor has an electronically controlled rev limit, so without a change to this value, your motor "will rev up to" the same place. Sounds like you need to let a professional handle your car or you're just asking for more trouble...
