lol, SEARCH my friend!
I think you should just boost an LS and put the rest of the money in a bank.

^yeah I would have to agree, The best bang for your buck. Or if you want to say NA, I would say the B18c.... Just my opinion.

Negative. If you are planning to boost, then do it all at once. It isn't very fun having an engine ready for boost, driving around on 9.0:1 compression or less because you don't have all the parts or funds to complete the build.
SPOON and Jun are over glorified rebadged Honda parts anyways...and you get to pay a premium for them. Woohoo!
Researching what goals you want, is a good start.

with 5000 buy a Type S RSX engine swap.
that will give u 6 gears with 5 of them being short agressive gears... and an engine that responds incredibly well to boost.

Unless the prices have changed much, this isn't even close to his budget. The motor will be around 5k and parts to make it legal will be another 2.5k.

Thank you all for the advice. What i'm hearing so far is b18c is the best choice or just boost my stock engine (isn't that a bad idea considering i have over 100k on it?). How easy would swaping my b18b out for a b18c (do i need a new ecu?)?

boosting a b18b with over 100k can be easily done, just get it TUNED and you will be fine. boosting your stock b18b will give you alot more power then a stock gsr motor, so just boost the motor you have if there is nothing wrong with it, there is no reason to pay for a different motor thats not gonna give that much more power, but if your motor is bad then the gsr motor will handle alot more power under boost then a b18b will.
yes if you do a gsr swap you will need a vtec ecu, and you will also need to wire in vtec

Wow $5000..someone's got money. if your planning on going turbo...i suggest you take your motor out and build it from bottom up. do some research on what you want for internals and go from there...no need to buy a gsr motor when you could of already used that money to sleeve your block and get new pistons, rods,etc.....and upgrade your head internals for boost reliability depending on how much you want to push.....So in your situation the best way is to build your motor and boost it then buying a used gsr block and boosting it stock...cuz it wont last you long....

I have never in my entire life heard of someone doing an engine swap that revolved around what's legal or not, especially if it costed money to keep it legal?
maybe in cali they look at inspection, but if you know someone who can get you a sticker that'll work too, new jersey doesn't care, you can get a sticker at shady gas stations especially up north

I guess you haven't been on honda-tech long then.
In cali, if the car has not been cleared by the B.A.R. then you can't smog it. If you can't smog it you can't register it.
Does the OP want to do a swap every time he needs to smog it? I don't think he would so that's why i mention it. A cop pulled me over for the hell of it, saw my code reader plugged in and made me pop my hood. Does the OP want to risk having to spend 2 days swapping in and out engines so he can pass his fix-it-ticket?! Either way, it's gonna take an almost identical setup JUST to run his K-series in an Integra, and this is not even including the turbo!
Let me break it down why the 2 options are not valid with his budget:
<ul>B18c Swap[*]$2500 engine[*]$400 maintenance ( dizzy cap, wires, oil & water pumps, etc )[*]$100 ECU[*]$3500 Full turbo kit
<ul>K-series swap[*]$5500 Engine[*]$2500 Parts to make it work with your chassis[*]$3500 Turbo kit
<ul>Boost what you got[*]$3500 Turbo kit[*]$900 LSD
OP, like many of us are trying to tell you, Turbo or supercharge your B18b and buy yourself an LSD. Best bang for the buck you could ever get.

5500 for a K .. ?
****, you can get a k24a1 all day for $1300 shipped. Another $1,000 for a type S tranny, or just get a 5 speed if you want.
$2,500 to make it work?
Mounts are 500, $1,000 for k - pro (brand new), wiring yourself or by rywire for $300.. I guess it can cost 2500 if you pay for everyone to make your stuff..
Turbo.. if you really want to
By the sounds of it, OP doesn't have enough experience to even figure out what he wants, couldn't handle this complicated swap anyways.

sell your car and add that cash to your $5000, then find a guy who's getting out of something he put over twice that into. our forsale forum and ebay have great cars at good prices. hard to beat what you'll get. i've seen salvage title type-r's with JDM front ends for $9k, turbo'd rebuilt LS cars for $6500 with records. a lot of guys have trouble selling 12 second hondas. sounds like just what you are after.
i dare you to swap a SOHC vtec motor in your integra and boost it.
smash on DOHC n/a integras and show off your motor.
haha.
plus you'll get good gas mileage.

Please oh please show us where to score a K-series engine for $1300. All day. Maybe on a fluke or from a private party that's desperate, but I barely see B-series engines going for $1300, let alone a K-series.
Here's 2 examples
http://www.hmotorsonline.com/s...30014
http://www.hmotorsonline.com/s...30015
$5500 for a JDM Type R
$4000 for a USDM Type S
On top of the $1000 for K-pro, $300 for wiring and $500 for mounts, I've also seen that it costs around $600 for exhaust designed for this swap.
For all that money he could turbo what he has and walk all over the swap for the same price.
And yes, the OP doesn't seem to know what he wants ( actually, he seems to be leaning towards a B18c ) but that doesn't mean we cant answer his question. After he finds out what we recommend, he makes his choice, then he educates himself on how to get it done. It's a process and he has to start from somewhere. I started just like he did in '05.
