Default Repair/polish Lip on rims

I've got these rims from a friend. they're pretty beat up. im no expert at body work or fixing rims. i was just messing around and it turned out pretty good. there might be a better way of doing this, but hey, this is my first time and i like the results. i thought i'll just share with you guys.

Here is the picture of the rims he gave me. they are konigs. not sure what type though. i like the style of the rims, so i thought ill give it a shot.

i started sanding it down with 400 grit. didnt really get no where so i went to 220.

i had to do the inside lip by hand. took kinda long

After the 220 grit, i went to 1000grit and started sanding all over again

after the 1000 grit i sprayed it down and cleaned it.

bought me some aluminum polish from walmart.

used a piece of cloth and applied it on the lip in circular motion

after that i buffed it with a buff pad i bought from home depot. not too bad i guess.

after buffing

you can see the reflection of my finger. Not bad... dont you think>????
