Default Integra Exhaust. Full system or universal muffler???

Hey im new here. I drive a 95 integra RS sedan. I was looking to get an exhaust system probabaly from 5zigen with headers. My friend has two mufflers on the back of his eclipse. They sound pretty good. I wanted to know what are the positives and negatives of full exhaust systems compared to just the mufflers??

Also any other suggestions for integra sedan exhaust systems
Thanks

a muffler buy itself is mostly for looks, it will give u a few hp but u wont notice it. a full exhaust from header to tip will let your engine breath easier and in turn make u faster. u dont need dual exhaust on a honda ( u need the back pressure from the reatively small piping) so dont worry bout that. do a search and go to your local muffler shop and tell them what u want and ur budget. what do expect from this?

^agreed
except a muffler alone will not give you any sort of performance gain.

As stated before the muffler only is just for sound & show. When you get a full exhaust system, you're increasing the piping size which lowers resistance at WOT.

The tradeoff is that it can reduce power for daily driving.

I started off on my civic with the ol' I/H/E (intake, headers, exhaust)....but if i were to start over, i would have ( gotten an integra instead of a civic, but i digress, i fixed that issue ) gone turbo. I barely felt the difference in the headers and exhaust, and it certainly didn't feel like i got what i paid for.

Save the $600 you're about to drop on the exhaust, get a turbo kit for $1800 and you'll be much much much happier.

i have about 500 saved. I want to get a 5zigen exhaust with the headers to match. Right now im running about 155. i want to get close to 200. Maybe buy a Skunk2 manifold too.
Because i have a 4 door integra and only have a CAI its realtively slow. So i just mainly wanted to do headers on back

what do you mean your running 155, is that horse power? if so you are gonna need a hell of alot more to get close to 200, your gonna have to do internal engine work if you want to stay n/a, just save your money and go turbo

first off with just a cai u got maybe 150hp. nothing u just bolt on is going to get you to 200hp. fer that ur gonna need a little more money and alot more knowledge. for instance if you go out and buy than exhaust with like 2 1/4 pipeing then a year from now u want to boost it ur gonna haffta replace all that. spend some serious time looking into this cause if you just start buying parts all ***** nilly ur gonna run outa money real quick.... and do you have a auto or standard tranny?

the b18b does not come close to 150 ha. idk where you are reading this from but a base b18b has ~140hp, in which i think is about 120whp. now if you added the cai, you will probably get a gain of 6-8hp. so you might have maybe 125-130whp.

the bolt on exhaust wont get you far either. i say maybe 8-15hp gain. so if we add that in you'll only make about 135-140 whp.

i say save up and either do a motor swap or turbo. simple bolt ons wont get you to 200.

ok firstly nobody said WHP. secondly it comes with 142 at the crank, and a 6-8 gain on that is 148 to 150 sooooooooooooooo ya..lets keep this on topic

if i were you id get an axleback fur now and see how you like the sound, do little more research and decide if you want more show or more go..

An NA B18B is a slow money pit. Don't go spending $600 for an exhaust and $400 for an exhaust manifold that is probably going to make you SLOWER. Save the $1000 for something else.

I have an automatic transmission. How much does a motor swap for like a GSR engine cost? I could probabaly do one of those
Also what kind of internal engine work could i do to gain some power and acceleration
ALL SUGGESTIONS ARE WELCOME. Thanks

a gsr engine will cost you anywhere from 1000-3500 depeding on where you find it and what it comes with. you are better off ditching the auto and getting a 5 speed(talking about the whole car not just trans) with the auto you will either need to trac down a jdm auto ecu or you will have to find a usdm and have it chipped so it will work with the auto.

as far as performance, to stay n/a you will ned high compression pistons, rods, better cams, entire valvetrain

or you can go turbo and get more hp
just do alot of reserch

Can you give me the heads up on the JDM auto ECU and the USDM?
Does this help my automatic transmission run better? Like what exactly does it do and how does it work?
Sorry I'm not familiar with these two you mentioned. Thannks for for the help

If you ran the same ECU with a swap then it would shift at the same point (if it even worked at all) Only JDM vtecs came with auto tranny's, hence why you would need a JDM auto ECU, but then you run into smog problems. Its a lose/lose situation for you. Don't build an auto.
