Default help with rebuilding my y1

im new to hondas so please help me out. been wrenching vw's for 10 years but my cousin turned me to the dark side. I need some advice about a LSD and changing out the fifth gear. I've run Quiffe diffs on a few different cars always been happy with them and there bulletproof if you know of any better ones please let me know. Now about fifth gear i do alot of highway driving and my ears bleed at 80 mph defanitely need to get something taller any help is much appreciated will be put to good use. I have a 90crx with b16a-y1Lsd no mods so far just bought the car. Going to be built for autox\ road race. Have had 2 itb golfs in the past that were amazing so im hoping Honda will impress me. thanx

swap out 5th while droping in the Quaife, I might have a LS cable 5th hiding somewhere, but likely sold them all.

Detoilet, I've spent some time there.

I prefer Delray for Acura parts

http://www.acuraoemparts.com/delray/jsp/home.jsp

Take alot of pics, but this being your first time.......you'll have fun getting it back together.

What part of "D" you in? I used be hang around Taylor/Southgate and know a few people up there if you need a hand.

I used to make monthly trips to "D", but have only been up three times in the past 2 years. I was gonna move up there, but that was about the time your economy TANKED.

I built a Y8/ZC trans for a guy in Royal Oaks, then drove up there to fix it after he broke the case while installing.

MFactory LSD is very good. Runout of .001" versus .003-.004" for Quaife. Lighter as well.

You can go down to a GSR or LS 5th. I have both but only the LS is for sale.

Your stock synchros are probably in good shape. Inspect the synchro springs. Gearspeed synchros work well. I use them in a lot of builds.

Aquafina, has the mfactory diff been test fitted in a cable b trans? Quaiffe has the same part# for cable and hydro b16/ls so it may fit.

Don't know if you can purchase a Helms for a JDM car or not. Can go by about any B series Helms TBH.

90-91 LS is same as JDM B16 cable trannys, just some slightly different ratios.
