So I know everyone already knows about the Autolock and that it can be defeated. But thats not my question here. My question is, wouldn't it be more effective to lock up the gas pedal instead of the clutch or brake pedal?

If they can't accelerate the car, then they can't steal it, right? (This obviously does not include methods such as towing)

 

If it's defeatable on the clutch or brake pedals, why would it be safe on the gas pedal?

 

buy three and put them on all the pedals =P

 

Because it would seem to me that if you use it on the brake pedal, you can still use the parking brake to decelerate. But if you are unable to accelerate, then you would have to remove or break the autolock before stealing the car, no?

 

You just anwered your own question, when they steal cars with an autolock they break them off, they dont drive off with the car with the autolock attached and braking with the parking brake.
