This project has been in the planning stages for a long time and is finally ready to go!

Just a bit of background info to get you guys up to date, I will give more detailed information as we go along.

A bit about myself: My name is Ralph Bossino and I am the creator of BosStylists. Some of you may have been following my orange s2000 build process. I have always wanted to do something in the tuning industry and whilst building my car this idea came to me. I have decided to go ahead with it and use my car as a show car for the company. I hope you all like the idea and play for your chance to win what will be an absolutely crazy s2000! Thank you!

The Car: 2003 AP1 s2000 with 22,359 miles.

The Company: BosStylists is based on creating high end tuner cars and offering the public the chance to win them. We begin by searching around and choosing some of the highest quality parts for the car (3 for each category – e.g. body kit, rims etc). A virtual image then gets created with each part and a voting process is opened on the website, whereby the public can log on and vote for their ‘favourite’ car. The voting process lasts one month, and at the end the most ‘popular’ car will be built. There is then an interim period where the parts arrive from Japan and the car gets built. The build process will be followed on various forums as well as my personal blog. Once the car is complete there will be a 1 month period set aside as a last minute period for people to buy tickets. The competition is a worldwide competition with shipping to the winner for free worldwide.* We are aiming to close the competition on the 31st December, but obviously the delivery of the parts is out of our hands so this cannot be guaranteed.

The fortunate ‘donor’ car ready to begin a whole new life is a 2003 AP1 with 22,359 miles.

The car is in very good condition throughout, except for the front bumper which has minor damage due to scraping underneath. The block is being replaced with a brand new block as well (info to come) as well as many other parts, resulting in what will be an excellent final product.









I am really looking forward to seeing this project finished

btw what happens if nobody picks the correct coordinates, do you go to the closest person?

by the way, are you guys going to be selling the leftover parts from the car? (i.e. fenders & sidemarkers)

If nobody picks the correct coordinates it goes to the closest person .. if two / more people guess it right the game is repeated with a different image until we get one sole winner

Yes I will be selling the parts that come off the car .. I am not too sure about the sidemarkers yet though. I will send you a pm with my email address, email me with what you want and around how much you would be willing to pay and I will get in touch once they are off the car, see what I can do

 

Being the first project I wanted to make it extra special so it would remain in the minds of those who follow it. Originally under the turbo option the car was to run 450whp. Seeing as the turbo option was so far ahead of the supercharger option, in terms of votes, I decided I would work on a power increase

We purchased a brand new Laskey Racing block (capable of 700+hp or 45psi of boost). We are aiming for a power output of 700whp for this build, with a ’street’ setting of a measly 500 - 550whp.

Having my car at 414whp I can tell you that this car will be absolutely insane I want my company to excel in its field, being the only one to my knowledge doing this kind of thing, but either way I want my cars to be the best. Hopefully the added purchase and as a result performance hike of the Laskey Racing block will reiterate this point.

im def buyin one or 2... since the soccer ball is larger than one specific coordinate... are you using the exact center of the ball???

That is actually the general trend at the moment .. people who are buying tend to be buying 2, 3 and even 4 tickets and crowding an area.

While I think the car should turn out great and it seems like a great opportunity for someone to win a nice car, isn't this just an international raffle? Which unless you are a charity is most likely illegal to a certain degree in quite possibly every state in the US?

 

i dont ses a problem with it being illegal in the states... since the car is in the country and will be exported if need be. plus, malls near me raffle off cars every now and then with $100/each tickets

It's not a raffle. You don't have a number on a ticket and no one is drawing a ticket with a number on it.

Perhaps lottery might be a better description since more than one person could pick the winning spot. He is selling tickets with coordinates corresponding to a spot in a picture. Technically the ball in the picture could be absolutely anywhere in the picture. So therefore any of the possible spots may be the winner. So, for example if there were a thousand spots, picking a single spot would get you one chance in a thousand of winning. Much like playing the daily number lottery drawing here in PA where three *****, each bearing a number 0-9 are drawn yielding a daily number from between 000 and 999.

Car hasn't actually arrived yet. Is still in Barclona waiting to make the trip down!!

There is no real explanation for it .. it kind of falls somewhere inbetween. The key thing is that it is not gambling as there is no chance involved, and in order to be gambling it must be a game of chance. The image is a real image and the ball has been professionally removed, but the ball is actually in that image and it is up to the people playing to use their skill and knowledge of the game to work out where the ball actually is. On another note in order to be gambling it must be an event that occurred in the future. This picture is an event that has already occurred, thus in the past, therefore not gambling.

I hope this explains it a bit better. As to what it is categorised as in terms of lottery / raffle etc it is a 'spot the ball' competition.
