Default short throw shifters straight vs single vs dual bend

Whats the difference between the straight, single and dual bend short shifters? Just how close the shift **** is to the steering wheel?

any opinions on brands?

I’m using a Fastline Road Race dual bend shifter in a ‘91 CRX. I’m 5’10” tall so I also use a 75mm (2.95 in) steering wheel spacer. The dual bend shifter allows the gearshift to be closer to the steering wheel. Shifts throws are the same as stock, but shifting to 5th gear feels longer than stock. I also had to cut the shift linkage counter weight below the car to clear my larger aftermarket Invidia exhaust. Also, it started to get a little rust on it, so I coated it with rust converter.

You can read more about it below:

I've had every kind imaginable and I would say S2 dual bend short throw or OEM GSR dual bend is the way to go. It puts the shift **** in a better place for standard driving.

You will never feel anything smoother than when the S2 dual bend and the S2 shift **** are combined. I love mine

The FLP is probably the only one that puts you closer to the wheel. The others just move teh shifter closer or further front to back, more or less.....

The Honda factory shifter from the ef wagon is a bit longer and will also locate the shifter closer to the wheel....good luck

what?? NOT true. speed shifting may be bad for your tranny, but changing the throw on the linkage does nothing to the internals. you are simply making less work for yourself. plenty of people ruin transmissions with stock shifters

Short shifters won't mess up your tranny. Don't try to slam gears before engaging the clutch.

Rev match, you can shift into gears without using the clutch. (I did it all the time in my Integra without grinding) If you know your car well, RPM, GEAR, you can do this without grinding.

The Integra im talking about, (97 LS with I/H/E, ran a 15.4 with full interior, P/S, and A/C. I used the clutch, but only to shift into the gear. (I didn't use it when I pulled out of gear.)
