Default hd radio and hard to get stations

theres a station out here in jersey that is new and hard to get (pulse 87.7). i barely get it with my alpine headunit and window antenna. but both my friends car (99 bmw 323i) and my moms (honda accord) both get it fine.

now the question is: if i get hd radio, will i be able to get it clearly or not?

Default Re: hd radio and hard to get stations (honcivic25)

When we put a Kenwood HD Radio kit in an F-150 (KDC-X990 head unit) we suddenly were able to pick up channels in Waco and such (this is in Mesquite). We were at least 30 miles from the "after this line you can NOT pick up this station" lines, yet still got a bit of reception.

Some reason, HD Radio kits (or at least this one) seems to amplify antenna strength. Mileage may vary, but this is my experience with them.

A little off topic: Anyone else notice HD radio sounds compressed? Could just be a crappy provider though.
