how hard would this be to do.and steps to do it

first what year car and is it auto or 5speed.
It is not that hard you can do it in a day with a friend.

Whether its an auto or standard...its pretty straight forward...standard is a little easier in my opinion.

basic toolset with assorted open end wrenches and a ratchet with various size sockets, (8mm,10mm,12mm,14mm, etc), and an engine hoist. air tank and impact gun would be a help as well but not necessary.

i'm not sure what year civic ex you have so i just went with a 97. if thats not the year you have i'm pretty sure the steps will be virtually the same among the other years. this should help you
