Main Harness question.
Been havin some issues with the caR recently. Guy who did the swap basically did a half *** job and didnt take his time. He told me that he couldnt use the harness that came with the jdm swap because of rhd/lhd issues, so he put in a gsr harness. There are clips everywhere that arent plugged in and just hanging, but no CEL are being shown. What are my options? Do i buy a new Type R harness? Will a usdm harness even match up correctly with jdm version motor? My car has been smokin really bad, enough that i cant even drive it. I brought the car to acura and they advised me to fix all electrical possibiities before i go into the motor, because one thing could be leading to another.

a GSR harness should be fine as long as its OBD2. Even if its not you can still make it work. as for any connectors that are not plugged in, you will need to find a wiring schematic of a GSR harness and pin outs, and find out what the plugs are for. But if you are using a stock ECU and have no CEL codes, I would think everything "needed" is being read correctly by the ECU, therefore, it is wired correctly.
I used a LS harness on my USDM ITR swap and it works perfectly fine.

Is it worth buying a new usdm type r harness? Will the usdm harness even match up with the jdm motor? Should I leave my gsr harness and clean up the misc. plugs/wires i do not need? NO CEL are being thrown right now but im taking motor out for new shortblock. While motor is out should i study gsr schematic and "clean up" the harness? Sorry for all the questions. Any help will be appreciated.
I would just cut out what you don't need. Make sure your CEL lamp hasn't been removed while your at it... I don't know who did your work, but I've ssen that shadiness a few times.
No, as long as you insulate any paired wires you cut from one another.
Also, if you plan on adding any sensors/switches such as gauges in the future it wouldn't be a bad idea to leave one or two of the unused wiring (like those under the intake mani), that way you can avoid running wires thru the firewall and just splice in @ the ECU harness.
