Default 07' SI Throttle Lag.

Okay so sometimes when i have the clutch depressed partially and try to rev the rpms does not go up with the gas pedal down for about a half second. For example when i push on the gas the rpms would probably slightly jump but not as if you were in neutral trying to rev the rpms up. im guessing this is the downfall of electronic throttle for our cars?

Drive by wire FTL

Basically when you push the gas pedal, the signal is sent to your cars computer and then it calculates what to do.

Vs pushing the gas and the wire automatically starting the acceleration.

I hear the p2R throttle body spacer gets rid of throttle lag, but I never had a chance to put mine on.

What intake do you have? I just put my TB spacer with gaskets and IMG and I noticed a little difference. Found a local shop to convert my DBW to cable and use Kpro for a little under 2000.

Im having the same problem. You can convert it to cable throttle instead of electronic ( my buddy did this ) and it works amazing. Im soon to be doing it to mine! Look into that

heres a solution to your throttle lag.

air conditioning

also the conversion is possible. i read that u can just hard wire the speedo to the vss like the older hondas. but u need to modify the wiring

With the whole throttle thing, i hear that they making a kpro for our cars ( and not just using the one from the rsx type s ) THEY ARE making a solution for the lag. I was reading in some article so i would hold off for a little more. Other wise your looking to spend 2k or so.

The lagg has to be the most stupid thing they have ever programmed into a car. With that said, it was programmed in for ecconomy in mind so I've been told by the Honda Tech I work with. In a performance vehicle thats pretty stupid. Mine to has done everthing you guys have mentioned here and I can't stand it. But, Take a look on Buddy Clubs site there is something new that will let you dial out the lag and make the throttle snappy.{NO Lag or some Lag} It's not on the market as of yet but is comming very soon. Also, King Motorsports did mention to me at their Dyno Days a month ago that the Kpro is done but for some reason Hondata doesn't want to release it yet. Don't have a clue why.

My 1991 Ford Explorer did that exact same thing. You could SLAM the gas pedal to the floor, but there will be that 1/2 second before ANYTHING happens.

the speedo has nothing to do with the rev hang.

from what i've heard hondata said that they're not going to modify the dbw system for liability reasons, so the coming of kpro won't do anything for the hang issue.

i am looking into a Blitz throttle controller that they originally made for WRX's and Evo's. and i hear that Buddy Club has a similar controller avail. WAY less $$ than kpro too.
