Default My gas guage likes to do weird things!

Okay so this has been happening often lately. It used to not be bad at all and it really wasn't bothering me but lately my gas guage has been doin weird things more often.

What happens is sometimes when I turn real sharp or any kind of crazy movement where the car leans the gas guage will drop wayyyy below the "E" marker, this has happend before when just driving straight also.

My uncle told me that the little thing in the gas tank that judges how much gas you have may be broken off or soon to break off.

Sooooo, How do I fix it?

Thanks in advance for any help anyone can lend me!

What's the full name of the piece to where I could google it and it would pull up what I need?

What's a reasonable price for the piece?

Fuel Sending Unit

Check here:

http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/

They are priced really good. As to how much they usually run I can't tell you that.

Did a google search, typed in Fuel Sending Unit 94 accord and got this:

fuel sending unit is by the fuel pump in the gas tank. You don't have to drop the fuel tank!! The port with a harness going to it is the access port to the gas tank. You can get to it through there. Before you open the port and mess with anything disconnect the negative side of the battery so you don't spark anything and cause a fire.

Search more to confirm it ok. Good luck man. Keep us posted.

take out the back seat and the sending unit will be right there in the middle. i believe it is a circle hole w/ 5 nuts. there is a gasket that should of came w/ the unit. just be careful taking the unit out so nothing falls into the gas tank

Could I siphen out the gas and clean out the gas tank this way also?

I mean it is a 14 year old car there's bound to be a lot of debree in there! Is it possible to clean out the tank? That'd probably make the car run better, do that clean the injectors up real nice or get new ones and flush the fuel lines have everything all nice and clean all the way through :D

A clean engine inside and out never hurt nobody

If you decide to clean the tank drive the car until the gas runs out. That way when you clean it you can refill it fresh and put a bottle of fuel injector cleaner in the tank as well.

Well for the injectors I was gonna do this DIY I found on http://www.superhonda.com, this;

http://www.superhonda.com/foru...60281/

I dunno how to make it a link sorry...

But yeah that sounds like a good thing to do is there anything to watch out for in the gas tank like stuff not to wash or move?

What should I use to clean it out? I was thinkin to spray some good degreaser all over it and then pressure wash it...
