runnin a z6 with itb's...head gasket?
im just wondering if there are head gaskets that are thinner then stock available? if so is it a good idea and what can i expect for compression increase, .1?
assuming its a complete z6 head with block if ya run a normal z6 or y8 head gasket youll have 9.1 if ya can find a 2 layer y8 it will take ya to 9.3.
But if ya run dohc zc pistons and a normal gasket youll have 13.6 compression.
Change that to a 2 layer with dohc zc pistons and youll be up to 14.1 compression

There are companies out there that specialize in gaskets and can make them in custom sizes.
Cometic for instance.

Oh, and some people drill out the rings holding the gaskets together and remove the middle layer of the OEM gasket. then they apply copper spray to both sides and use it as a thinner 2-layer gasket.

i know a guy that uses loctite 7091 as head gasket
yea he was running a blown 398 and yea it was a throw away engine
qualified ,ran 7 times and still won without a leak
but like i said this was a throw away engine
clearences were at most .020

They are OEM piston.
P29 or PM7 are the pistons you would want.
