Default type r lag problem

00 type r engine with injen intake, jdm 4-1 headers 2.5 collector with 2.5 test pipe, itr exhaust, msd ignition, the problem is that on half throttle it pulls pretty hard like normal, but on full throtle it lags really is it because of too much air i hear alot of air trying to come in but it don't makes power, do i need to tune it with something like a chrome ecu or should i just get a fuel pressure regulator with a vafc2

Yes, a OBD-1 ems (crome, hondata, neptune, etc) would definetly improve your engine response.

OP, your best option is going with a chipped P28 and a good tune.

side note: I always thought vafc was a piggyback.

Get rid of the MSD and go back to stock, then tune.
