Has anyone ever ordered from *VPFab* or member *ebydrc*?
Just wondering if anyone from HT has any experience ordering from them.
I pulled a search and only found 1 guy thru the archives.
im starting to get a little frustrated with my order with them
i spoke with david and ordered some supertech pistons, eagle rods, and arp head bolts on 9/18 for my turbo rebuild. i was able to check the status on the order online thru their website http://www.vpfperformance.com. however for a week it just said processing with no tracking # or updates. i decided to call on 9/25 to follow up on the order. spoke with david and he was able to give me a tracking # but stated the order would only include rods and arp bolts and they were to be delivered that same day. the pistons were supposed to be drop shipped directly from supertech which is in san jose, ca (im in Sacramento, which should be a max 2 day shipment thru UPS or Fedex ground, i know this because i ordered some Ti retainers and valves from Supertech that same week and received the order the next day). he states the pistons may be delivered at the same time with the rods and bolts.
i get the shipment on 9/25 but only rods and head bolts are in the package. i send david an email letting him know of this. he responds back saying he gave supertech a call and and they were gonna email him a tracking #. i didnt here back from david, so on 9/26, i email to him to follow up again. he states supertech never emailed him any info and that he would follow up and let me know.
the weekend passes and now on monday 9/29. i try to call david and leave a voicemail to follow up. i also sent over and email and even responded to one of his threads here in the sponsor marketplace. here is the link:
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread/2366255
i also call supertech and spoke with martin to see if they have any information of any drop shipments being sent to my address. the only order they have is my order for valves and retainers from last week. he asks if i received a tracking # and of course i say no, and says if there is no tracking number, more than likely there is no order. he recommends i call the original business where i placed the order, which i have been doing. i even ask if they have the pistons i ordered in stock, which they are.
and now we are at today 9/30. tried calling david again and left another voicemail. sent over another email to try to get a response with a request for my refund if he couldnt deliver the pistons so i can look elsewhere.
if any fellow HTers have any feedback please let me know. if anyone knows david or anyone @ VPFab, is there any other ways to contact them? thanks!!

I did not request a tracking number, he might have provided one, I do not remember. Just saying I had a good experience and VP fab is legit. I bought the wastegate a few months ago.
I'm glad your transaction went well!
I'm sure VPFab is a legit business. They are a sponsored vendor here on HT and that is a big reason why I decided to buy from them as opposed to a local shop nearby.
As a customer who has already paid my hard earned money, I just want to know the status of the product and not be left hanging or given the run around.
*Update* - David has replied to my email stating that Supertech is having issues with the ring sets and thats the reason why there has been a delay on the shipment. Should be shipped by today or tomorrow. However no tracking number.
Hopefully I will be seeing them by the end of the week.

dale,
i told you straight up when you placed the order that these would be dropshipped directly from the manufacturer and thought we understood that, i feel ive been pretty straight forward with getting back to your emails and calls. im sorry it took awhile to get the status from supertech but i can assure they received a call every day regarding the status. youll have a tracking when they send me one i can any ask them to give me proper updates when i talk to them, im not in cali so i cant drive there and beat the information out of them, i think its clear from the fact you received EXACTLY what i told you we had and in a timely matter clearly ive been honest with you, im sure you can see that.

I bought a turbo off him and received it in a timely fashion. I'm VERY satisfied with the stuff I bought from him and will purchase from him again. Very stand up guy and the prices he has are really awesome compared to the other vendors on here. I hope this gets resolved soon.

david,
after i received your email stating the problem with the piston ring sets is causing the delay, i called martin @ supertech again since the pistons are supposed to be coming directly from them and inquired about the problems with the rings. he informed me that they have no issues with the ring sets. i asked him if the pistons are in stock, he said yes. he then asked who i ordered from and i gave him your name @ VPFab. he put me on hold to check his orders, after a minute he came back and said he has no orders from VPFab nor does he have any knowledge of any pistons being dropshipped to me. he also suggested that VPFab maybe going thru a distributor for the pistons but he HIGHLY recommended that i talk to the original company i made my order thru to get things straightened out.
now all of this information is coming directly from supertech, the company that is supposed to be dropshipping the pistons to me.

so i should be satisfied with receiving an incomplete order just because it was delivered in a timely matter? i would understand this position if the pistons were not available at all but this is not the case.

dude no offense but you sound like an ***. sometimes companies have minor set backs supertech happen to have one with its pistons.
i understand you feel like you worked so hard just to see money go down the drain, but thats not the case. its just simplely a matter of being patient, and if this is for your daily driver then i can understand your position you want to get up and running, but good things come to those who wait.

so i sound like an *** because i have 2 companies telling me 2 different things.
VPFab is telling me that there is a problem with the pistons, which is delaying delivery.
Supertech says there isn't a problem with the pistons.
what do u suggest for me to do?

i did and supertech stated that they were not a dealer. which is why he suggested that VPFab maybe going thru a distributor instead of directly thru Supertech.

Dale, Ill make it really simple, clearly your not going to be happy with however this is handled, expect to see a refund for your pistons later today (pending supertech hasn't shipped this) you can talk to supertech or whoever you want obviously martin doesn't know what he is talking about. Im sure you guys can get together and sort this out. also the discount i gave you for placing a order together wont be refunded, I should charge you for shipping too which I didn't do because Im such a *****.. maybe you should mention the full story

David,
If you feel this is the best way to resolve this situation, so be it. There were other alternatives which could have been presented in order to resolve the problem, i.e. offering me something you did have in inventory. I would have been open to the idea of paying little more for something you had in stock as long as it was within my budget range. Heck, a confirmation from Supertech would have been adequate for me, as long as they could verbally tell me over the phone that an order was placed by you to ship the product over, but obviously this is not the case. As a consumer, I was only performing my due diligence and following up with both parties who I am told would be involved in this transaction. Obviously we are not on the same page with this situation.

its not your responsibility to call up the manufacturer asking a bunch of questions that obviously wont get you the right answers of course there will be confusion, instead of waiting a normal amount of time for a response from me, you decided to post this, and then even after i tell you what i was told you indirectly call me a liar, im not cool with that and rather see you order from someone else, Ive been very up front with you from your first phone call, when i told you I didnt have them in stock and the would be shipping to you from supertech, you agreed, i had no way of foreseeing there being this issue neither did you, however we both know this is the nature of the beast, at that point we could have come up with another brand i had instock however you agreed to supertech. Dale I know there are other options hell i have a set of CP pistons here, but since you feel its appropriate to start a thread about this ill opt out for a refund

Not to really butt-in, however, many of use vendors/ shops/ etc, occasionally need to drop ship not only to keep our overhead inventories low for products that don't "fly" off the shelves, but to keep shipping costs down for ourselves and the customer. Shipping to our facility simply so it can be reshipped AGAIN, not only delays the customer from getting their product, but makes the vendor pay twice for shipping; 1st from the manufacturer to us, then again from us to the customer. Why do that when the product can go directly to the customer that much faster?
If you hate dropshipping now, wait till next year when many of us will be adopting that system more often.

dropshipping works great imo especially for smaller business's, it saves them money and you money on shipping
and to the OP it sounds like you got a little impatient because a business was "busy" and couldnt return your calls within 2 days, chill out and give him some time and if he didnt get your your stuff within a month then start bitching

i returned his questions within 24hr's.... honestly even when i have XXX product on the self and the customer calls looking for a product that is within driving distance of that manufacturer i would typically have that shipped from there to save on shipping time and cost...
