Default Regular or Mid-Grade in the Si??

So because of this stupid gas shortage, I spent my lunch hour today driving around looking for gas. I went to atleast 10 stations and none of them had Premium. 2 gas stations had regular, and 1 of them had Mid-Grade.

If I cannot find Premium before I absolutely have to fill up, will it hurt my Si to run on Regular or Mid-Grade? What about those octane boosters....would they help at all?

I only have 3 bars left on the gas gauge, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

btw.....I'm sure there have been posts before asking if regular or mid-grade would work in the Si, but I couldn't find them.

If you are hard up for premium you can buy toluene and blend it with the 87.

(This was taken from the link Kidnkorner provided)

How much toluene should I use per tank of gas?

A: Octane ratings can be very easily calculated by simple averaging. For example, the tank of an Audi A4 1.8TQ is 15.6 gallons. Filling it with 14.6 gallons of 92 octane and 1 gallon of toluene (114 octane) will yield a fuel mix of:

(14.6 * 92) + (1 * 114) / 15.6 = 93.4

Also note: I called Sherwin Williams and price quoted a gallon of Toluene. It's 18.95 a gallon.
