exhaust noise after replacing header
I recently installed a header on my 95 Accord.. everything fit fine, but now i have this exhaust leak between the headpipe flange and the flange that connects to the midpipe with the o2 sensor. The springs are correct size, the bolts tightened down, and i even replaced the cat flange gasket (after arguing with auto zone its NOT a doughnut gasket). i am positive its coming from where this gasket connects to the midpipe, because i cleaned the whole headpipe, midpipe, cat. and drove it around, checked it again, and had black exhaust soot in one spot only. the spring are completely compressed. its as tight as possible. its a slight leak that happens only under acceleration between 1000 - 2000 rpm. my question is, is there a material i can plug that leak with, without welding it, since it has to be taken apart later to replace parts? i saw some putty steel at autozone and wonder would that work? and any other ideas? thanks
telling autozone its a doughnut gasket will get me the gasket between the exhaust manifold and the headpipe. after looking through their stock, its labeled different in their database.

This is autozone. AUTOZONE. Try walking up to your honda dealers parts counter next time. The pimply afterschool "Im a total automotive badass seeing as how I rock the counter at autozone" wouldnt know any better than you. It IS a donut gasket.
