Default Salary quesition, for everyone in America on motorcycle technicians

I was looking at the BLS.gov and since I moved down to Florida to go to MMI to be a Honda motorcycle technician I was shocked on how much guys make in the riverside area of California, or at least around that general area, its at least for the cities it showed, California was like the 2nd highest on average paying area besides San Antonio, Texas. Is this really true? Obviously cali would be a top place for bikes n such, but is this just because of the living cost in cali?

u really wanna open the door on riverside california? ok here goes: lowest literacy rate of any city in usa, meth capital of the world (you cant even buy cold medicine here because they can make it into meth), more convenience stores and liquor stores per capita than any other city in usa, really high homeless population because in the early millinium redlands ca gave free one way bus tickets to riverside to all homeless in their city. i dont have a statistic on it but we have one of the highest mortgage forecloser rates of any city in usa. in my housing complex with about 200 homes, about 50 have been abandoned/foreclosed/or is currently for sale or rent. you can get hookers at the drive through at church's chicken and you can buy knives and bb guns from the ice cream trucks

you may get paid more, but on top of usual cali overpriced everything, you gotta deal with all that.

its slightly better in my opinion. im assuming your looking to work at chaparel motorsports? its a huge store, prolly takes up a whole block for its showroom, then another building taking another block for its garages, then another building for its inventory warehouse. its livable out here, just dont expect hollywood california. there are a few nice places in the inland empire that are the diamonds in the rough, but i plan to move out of here as soon as im done with school.

Well good luck on MMI I was a student there in phoenix its a great school. One thing to remeber when looking for work anywhere is that first off you want to look for the need of the people in the area and then find out how many choices the people already have in that area (your compition). being a new tech in an area with a lot of tech is almost like going to hollywood and expecting to get a movie job right away it aint gonna happen not trying to be a bummer just a realist. You are not a californian I take it. Make sure you have a job before you go where ever. Enjoy your school and your career.
