Default Rebuilding ITR

Hey im rebuilding my ITR motor.
Im just wondering should i switch out my ITR pistons for the Pr3
or what? Is it worth getting my itr pistons pressed out for the pr3?

Stock 1.8 b18c5
ACL Race main and rod bearings
Balanced and blue printed crank
Stock itr rods with ARP rod bolts
ARP headstuds
OEM Headgasket
STOCK OEM ITR head
Supertech Flat face valves.
Crower stage 2 NA cam. Stock idle lobe?
New oem water pump , timing belt , itr oil pump etc.

thanks fellas

If the itrs are in good shape , keep them. They have the antigalling/oil attracting coating on them. I also think they weight match the sets in the itr motors closer than getting 4 pr3's.

Tom you're back!?

To the OP - is there a reason you're tearing the motor down?

looks like a great build. with flat face valves and a little decking you should be able get over 11:x compression which would be great with those crower 2's. i don't see any reason to get rid of your pistons unless you are after more compression than you can get decking the block and head. also, your crank should be fine. i just finished a rebuild and my gsr crank looked new after 160k miles. your entire build looks great to me, nothing i would change. just make sure you buy enough spring for the crower 2s. crower's recommended spring is the way i would go. also, that cam does have a stock idle lobe. 63402-2, perfect DD cams

I'll tell you how **** I am with cranks. I rejected 6 on my build. I rejected 3 on b18flips build, I rejected Mini-crx's after 2 trips to the crank shop. Be very peticular when inspecting cranks. Most machine shops cant judge a good crank if they are paid too..lol.It's like this.
Running a scored crank is like accepting a heart transplant with only 2 strokes on it!!

If you can see the scores , get it polished, if you can feel it, its scrap.
