Just bought an '84 ATC 200S. Some questions.
I'm sorry if this isn't in the correct sub-forum. I know most (if not all) of the posts in this sub-forum are about street bikes, but I just purchased an ATC 200S for $100 from my friend who is hard up for cash. It's in pretty good condition. Seat is solid (needs recovering), as is the front fender. Like usual, the rear fenders are gone. It starts up easily and runs really strong, with a Cobra exhaust. Has an aftermarket headlight, and comes with two brand new holeshot tires for the rear (needs a new front tire).
My brother also has an '84 200S, that has been sitting in his garage for two years. His only needs to have the carb cleaned and the recoil fixed, but he said he's lost ambition since he doesn't like riding by himself. Last time we rode it, it broke down twice while riding it on our lake, and we had to push it a mile uphill to his house. Now that I have a 200S, he can't wait to start working on his.
Here are my questions: 1) I've heard that you can put bigger motors into the 200S frame, and I've seen it done before. I know I've seen a 250R motor in a 200s frame, but is that the biggest it will allow without serious modification? 2) Where is a good website to find parts for older atv/atc (i.e.-gasket kits, big bore kits, fenders, etc.)?
All help is appreciated. Thanks
