Default update on an eBay oxygen sensor

wife's car had a check engine light...

access the jumper & read o2 sensor bad...

shopped around online for aftermarket ones

wow all over $100

went to eBay to get one of these for less than $20

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors....m245

i had to cut & solder the wires to the OEM plug, but that was cake...

used pbblaster before i even try to put a special o2 sensor socket on the manifold... turned the engine on to heat cycle it & make sure the solvent went into the threads...

while doing the R & R and soldering surgery of this Denso unit, i also unhooked the - battery terminal to clear the codes/reset engine light

tightened the replacement sensor back on, plugged it in, reconnect the battery terminal & started the engine to let the heat evaportate what's left of the pblaster from the exhaust mani/downtube...

check engine light is GONE!

So is there an actual update or a question here?

All i see is a thread telling people to buy a cheap Ebay O2 sensor.

How long will it last is the real question...... Keep this post in your watched threads profile. That way you can do an up date on how long the $20 O2 actually lasts.

I think he said it was Denso, so it should last a while.

If there selling it on ebay for $20 there must be a reason. I know, I've replaced a few with the universal fit O2 kits (can't remember what brand Denso or Bosch) and they didn't fair as well as a more expensive OEM/type replacement. May be they are manufactured with different materials for the sensor. That's kind of why I would like to know how long this one lasts.

yea,

i couldn't find the original thread that wanted this update so i made this thread... i think i replied to some1 a month or 2 ago; i just wanted him to have a heads-up

the seller seems like he buys it in bulk & sells it off (check his feedback ratings)

and if you seen my sig, wife's car is crooked anyways w/ a cheapo semi loud exhaust... we're just gonna leave it as-is until she saves up to get her ACURA MDX

since i already made sure everything else on the vehicle is mechanically in good working order-- like new timing belt/ accessory belts/water pump/ radiator/ windshield-- except for that bent AC condensor and hood

this is just a decent beater since it has good gas mileage to boot
