Default How to reset your speedometer?

I was wondering if anyone knows how to reset the speedometer on a 96 Accord LX.

My speedometer reads about 10mph over what I am actually doing. I have gotten use to it but Im not sure if it is exactly 10 mph over, or what the difference is..... but I would just like to have it accurate just in case I ever get pulled over for speeding, lol.

So if anyone could help me out and let me know how I can fix that, that'll be most awesome.

Thanks in advance!! =D

I know they have specialized shops that do this, I'm personally not sure how you can do it though.

Do you know what maybe causes it to mess up like that?

Aging components, changing tire/wheel sizes, etc

http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

You can use that to see if your wheels/tires are causing some of the problem.

Stock size for the Accord is like 195/60/15 if you have alloys.

I think those are the size wheels that I just put on it when I changed them a couple of months ago.

I just need to play doctor to my car because the person who had it before me eff'ed it up with the bootleg suspension, so everything just feels not right.

to people who dont take care of their hondas, haha

The guy who previously owned it did put indiglow gauges, and since I havent gotten around to changing them and looking into it, do you think that that could maybe be the problem?

Personally I haven't seen just the gauges do that, I do know installed incorrectly you can easily break the needle completely.
