We bought this a couple weeks ago and have transformed it a bit yall let me know what you think. Its not a monster.

lol, it's soooo FN loud but it sounds so sick

 

It's a 95 900ss. When we got it the guy was tryng to convert it to a 916, it had all of the 916 fairings on it as well as the headlamp assembly and the Termignoni exhaust. We never heard it with the pipes on it but one listen to it camn out like this was all it took. It's actually been a preety fun and interesting project. We have never realy done a crotchrocket before, my old bike was a Honda Magna.(heres the link)http://www.hondamarketplace.com/zerothread/2211471. So its had its ups and downs put im pretty happy with it so far. Next week we get to wire the bike and delete all the crap we dont need. I will be finishing the seat and rear sets this week as well as reinstalling the rear brakes.

 

I dunno about you but my *** hurts just looking at it. Don't lie, you took it for a spin like that right? Looks hawt!

 

does your ******* rest on the rear shock? bumps must be fun!

 

I havnt rode it yet we are still rewiring the bike and im finishing the seat pan

awesome start, i think the seat will make it or break it for me. too short of a tail might look awkward.

The seat will be done this week along with the controls, I am going to use some ATV spiked pegs instead of the stock ones then this baby goes up for sale.

dude... I really would be scared of the stability issue with a control layout/seating position like that. Have you guys ridden around with that layout?

I agree looks scary. I would slide down the controls 1.5-2 inches atleast and fab up some wild high/back rear sets then it will be a mean mo fo

 

Seating is much lower, so that is a good thing... lower gravity center, but the reach to the controls and the fact that the 900ss is a sport oriented head angle makes me want to go slowly until I was sure I could handle direction changes accurately. The pantha was not the fast handling bike in the world, so you may be okay... it just looks it might be a little wacky. one would have to ride it to be sure though, your range of movement is nearly at its max, and your sitting with the bars straight ahead

 

1. Do you plan on putting a rear brake?
2. How do you expect to turn when your elbows are locked?

 

the controls are being moved forward of the clutch cover

This bike is being rebuilt more as a bobber/cruiser than a canyon carver.

The rear brake will be installed as soon as the controls are done. Fuzzynutz rode it around a little and it turns fine. In that pic, the bars are turned to the left.

 

Bobbers are cool... I just wouldn't want you out on the road and become someones victim because you couldn't safely control your ride

Trust me I would'nt put something unsafe on the road. Yes it's more difficult to ride than some but are'nt all custom bikes? When was the last time you rode a comfortable Chopper? With the controls in the forward position it is pretty easy to manuver I just finished the the gear lever on the left side and it works great. I rode through 4 the gear yesterday to about 80 with no problems. Now its time to start fabing hte rear brake setup. It utilizes spikes ATV pegs so you get a real good footing regardless, but thanks for all of your comments and questions it's helping me to fab a better bike.

with a rake in the 24° range... its not the traditional bobber or "Raked" layout... I just wanted you to be aware. While 24° moderate for modern SPORT bikes, it could possibly be a handful during certain maneuvers when your laid out like that, specially in combination with a lack of range of movement... I wouldn't want you to get tank slappers @100+mph, that's no fun for anyone

No it is not anything remotlly resembling anything traditional that's what I like about it. To tell you the truth I don't ever plan on seeing 100+..... anyways, I leave that to rest of you crazy's personally I dont think I have enough sense to be going that fast on a motorcycle, It was just a cool build and something totally off the wall.

Thanks for all of the info. Ur getting a lil bit to techy for me though, Do you fabricate bikes or ride stock ones? Not trying to start a fight but stock and safe just dont apeal to me.
