Default 4 wire O2 in a 1 wire OBD0 car?

Has anyone tried putting a 4 wire Oxygen sensor in an obd0 car? The reason I ask is that my 1 wire sensor is toast and I have a spare 4 wire here. It would also be nice to have the car go into closed loop sooner.

assuming they both output the same signal to be decoded by the ecu, then i dont see why not. you'll have to wire up the ground, and also the two heater wires if you want it to work the way its supposed to.

You can hook up the signal wire from the engine harness to the signal wire on the 4 wire o2. Therefor your using the o2 but, not using the heater built into it. So tape up the other 3 wires, and your done.

Hmm I was hoping that someone might have done this before. I would like to hook up the heater circuit as well. I'll mess with it this weekend and see what I can come up with.
