Fastest Generation for Accords
correct me if i'm wrong, but 4th n 5th gen chassis are the same!?
You guys are not reading the question right, except for 01GSR. He's asking which Accord will run the fastest 1/4 mile. Thats obviously the J30 in about mid 15.

Well, my idea of fast is not only in a straight line, but also around the upcoming curves. I believe that with proper tuning, 5th Gen Accords are some of the best handling FWD cars.
hell yeah, 5th gens (especially the EX) have very well made suspension systems that can outhandle many cars in its class. the 4th gen i believe has the same setup too. a 5th gen will outhandle the 6th gen.
well I have to say some of the 6th gen's are pretty fast. I have a 6th gen 4cyl 5spd that runs mid 15's in the 1/4 mile. But that is a completly stripped interior stock elect. seat and Unorthodox Pulleys...but that still isn't bad for what I have done to the car.
excluding the V6 (kinda a cheap comparison considering 2 extra cylinders and .8 litre displacement advantage over every other generation accord except the rare 5th gen v6), i think the 4th gen ex would probably have the best bet at being the quickest. i'm not just saying that either because i own one. its only short 10hp of the 6th gen and 5hp short of the 5th and the same with torque, but weighs about 100lbs less than a 5ther and who knows how much less than the huge 6ther. without comparing track times since i've never seen times for either car stock, i'd say the 4th gen has the advantage considering both are 5spds. as far as handling, its a toss up between the 4th and 5th gen.
He never said anything about the 1/4 mile. All he wants to know is which is faster. Is he talking on the road courses or the drag strip?
I have a 91ex, 2002ex and just got rid of my wifes 97SE. The 97 and 2002 are both Auto's and 4cyl. so it really isn't a fair comparison, but my 91 is the fastest of the bunch. I have never driven it without the headers on it though so maybe it isn't faster, just modded.
As for the the 5th and 6th gens.....my new EX is faster than the 97 was and I haven't even broken the engine in yet. I can just tell the difference in them even at low rpm's. I understand that the EX has a few upgrades over the SE, but the engine is the engine right!!

The 6th gen I4 5spd is as quick as the 6th gen V6 stock for stock in 1/4 mile.
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahha ha
15.6 vs 16.6 .......... not even close....
hahahahahhahahahaha
i have also had both, and while i think i would buy the 4 cylinder 5 speed just because it was more fun to drive, the v-6 is much faster...
but with the v-6 6 speed coming out...nothing will touch it

If we're talking drag racing stock its the 6th gen V6. In a road racing track, why would a 5th gen be faster? When coming out of turns the 6th gen has more power to leave turns. Is it because of the manual factor? I dont know, th e 5th gen stock is pretty cowish.
