Default d15b2 problems

I have a 1990 honda civic hatch that had a d15b2 in it. and the mechanic has now taken it out and in the process of looking for another motor. I found one close by but it isnt a d15 its a d16A1 will it still fit in my car without any modifications? please help i have already went through 2 motors in a month and still havent gotten to drive it.

Yea the D16a1 is the old teg dohc motor, it's doable to install but you need to make a custom mount and well frankly that motor is stinky..

OP what are your goals and budget?

well does anyone know where i can possibly find another motor for under 500.00. I have already paid for 2 motors not including the labor for the mechanic so this 1 car is breaking me. any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Craigs list, Jasper Motors maybe.

Are you willing to do MPFI? OBD1? Vtec?

You can probably get the motor in the car, but I'm pretty sure the tranny from you old motor isn't going to blot up. you know you can use any D15 bottom end from 88-95, you just need to run the 88-91 sohc D series head.
