Valve adjustment problem on 1996 Accord
Hey guys, I'm in the process of adjusting the valves on my 96 Accord DX for the first time. Everything went smooth for the first two cylinders...but when I got to the third one I ran into a problem - the intake valves (towards the cabin) have no clearance. When I adjust the screw all the way loose I still cannot move the gauge in there at all...they are competely stuck shut.
My first through was that I didnt have that cylinder at TDC, so I started over with #1 at TDC, then moved on with the rotation...and I'm still having the same problem. The "UP" mark on the timing belt pully is 90 deg. away from being on top. When #1 is TDC the intake valves on the third cylindder (#2) loosen up.
Any ideas? Am I missing something? I am doing this because my vehicle was making a louder than usual ticking noise since I bought it about a year ago.
**Update: I was going in the wrong order...first time doing this.
