Default Opinions on Freeze 12, R12 alternative.

http://freeze-12.com/

I have a 1990 Accord, that has an R12 freon system. I was looking into R134 conversion and had some people recommend Freeze 12. Freeze 12 is a R12 "alternative" and works with out converting the system to R134?????

Im wondering if anyone has used this product or has thoughts on what direction I should proceed.

I am NOT AC licensed, so I would purchase the parts/ materials and have someone do the work for me.

I am looking into the conversion cause my AC no longer blows cool air. I have been with out AC all summer, but last summer the AC worked great, actually was super cold for Texas. Then over the winter I guess the freon leaked out. So when I first tried to run my AC this year, I got nothing but warm air blowing out. I realize there will be leaks to contend with.

How do yall think I should proceed?

Hondadude used it in his sisters 88 Accord and seemed to think it was pretty good substitute. It's a shame they kicked him off this website.
Freeze 12 is SNAP approved, and can be found all over EBAY

He said he kept creeping in freon until the A/C cycled at 38 degrees,[low fan speed//recirculate] head pressure was around 175psi and low side was 38 psi.

Those are good pressures, and should work well in an older system.

Keep in mind that it is a good idea to install oil and flourescent dye when recharging, after the 15 minutes of vacum.
After all the other freon leaked out somewhere.
