I need to replace the heater hose that is right under the distributor. I can't get to the clip to remove the hose with just needle nose pliers! The only other thing to do would be to remove the distributor and then i can get to the hose. Would it be a smart idea to do this or are there certain thing i should do before doing this?

Just take the distributor cap off and you can get to it.

 

you should be able to get to it with just taking the cap off.
