1979 CR 125 Gear Ratios
First post! (Excitement)
Anyways--I'm working with the 08-09 mini-baja team at UNCC and I need to find gear ratios for the motorcycle listed in the topic title. However, as you could guess, it is difficult to find any information on such an old bike.
Searching has yielded nothing. The team could buy a whole manual for the bike, but that could be wasteful. Further, I could go count teeth and take manual measurements, but I would like that to be my last course of action.
I have a part number: JE01E - 2007198. Is there any way to find out if this same gearbox was used in a more recent model bike? Does anyone know if this part number is the same as JE01E - 2007952?
If anyone has an older manual that they could scan a couple pages of for me, or can point me towards (best case scenario) a downloadable manual, that'd be great.
BTW, I recently bought a 1984 Honda Interceptor VR500F and love it.
Thanks.

I can't imagine why you wouldn't want to buy a factory service manual.
Your chances of finding this information on the internet are slim. If you do find the information, chances of it actually beng correct are even slimmer.
If you're disassembling it anyway, just count the gear teeth. It's not like it takes very long, and you will be assured of the correct specs.
