Default is my car slow !!

right hand drive 92 hatch eg6 straight from japan no lsd + apexi n1 cat back + no cat +hytech repliqua headers + password carbon whale dick + skunk 2 pro series intake manifold + azenis rt-615 couldent get her lower than 15.03 1/4 traping 94mph now i have skunk 2 68 mm throtle body and tuned on chrome (not dyno yet just lowered vtec from 6k to 5k raised rev limiter from 8.2k to 8.5k +launch controller + 8k check engine shift light richer fuel mixture and suposebly advanced timing .....) enyways car is faster since chip and tb ...how much dont know but enyway my friend has a ls v with sir pistons + sir tranny + sir head + gay intake + 2.5 in custom exaust and we can take off at 80 hes in 3rd im in 2end and he pulls half a car and it takes me all the way to 180 to be flush with him .....ohhh and hes 3 deep in a 95 hatch and im alone !!!!!!!! ....i feel slow he says with my setup i should be doing low 14"s....... enyway eny imput except retarded ones ... tx guys !

get an aggressive tune, then go dyno it. an/or go to the track and see what your car runs

well here goes my "imput"

USE THE [freak]ING SPELL CHECK BUTTON... with that said.

that just hurt my head... with all the misspelled words and one EXTREMELY long sentence i pretty much gave up reading and the skimmed through it.

so basically you have a lot of money dumped into an eg6 and when you race from a roll doing 80mph your getting spanked by a hatch with a LS-Vtec? well not that honda's are known for their torque the LS-V is going to have more torque than your b16.

now if i read correctly your racing from 80mph up to 180mph? wtf are you doing going 180 i hope this isn't on public roads... and if it is i hope you get pulled over and arrested for being a dumb ***...

about you being slow... you drive a civic with a b16. its improperly chipped and lowering your vtec engagement point is more than likely hurting your cars performance more then it is helping it.

if you want to go faster get a different motor or like decaf said get a more aggressive tune, but have it dyno tuned.

and for [freak]s sake quit driving like a damn idiot.

It sounds like your problem is tuning, you need to understand that a b16 doesn't have that torque to take a lsv, unless you had some serious internal work in your motor, but to what I understand you have just external bolt-on......not enough!!!!

Now lets analyze your set up!!

(n1 exhaust, no cat, tri-y headers and a 68mm tb)
+ (torque less b16) - (no performance cams) - ( low flow injectors)-(no tuning)
-(stock b16 injectors) / stock b16 pistons

RESULT: high reeving, torque less motor

If you add a higher flow Set up to your motor make sure you add the rest of the stuff needed to make run right.
Try to add some of the stuff I deducted out off your set up, I am sure you will notice changes, also consider using ctr pistons

First of all your post structure is absolutely horrible. I think I get what you're trying to say.

1st of all a JDM EG6 is a heavy car. I'd be amazed if your set-up broke into the high 14's seeing as how it's not much better than our standard 99-00 Civic Si coupe because the EG6 is almost as heavy. If you have ABS then it's seriously maybe 50-80lbs. lighter than the Si coupes which were commonly running mid 15's in the 1/4 with bolt-ons.

You have nothing of real value horsepower wise, so you've got maybe 150whp (conservative estimate) trying to pull 2,500lbs. or so - do the math.

I cleaned it up a bit, but it's still a mess.

Here's what I turned it into though.

Skunk2 Pro Series Intake Manifold
Falken Azenis RT-615

I can't get her quarter mile time lower than 15.03. I trapped at 94 mph.

Now I have a Skunk2 68mm throttle body and the car is tuned on Crome. I haven't dynoed the car yet. I just lowered VTEC from 6,000 rpm to 5,000 rpm and raised the rev limiter from 8,200 rpm to 8,500 rpm. I also have a launch controller, 8,000 rpm check engine shift light, richer fuel mixture and supposedly advanced timing.

Anyway, the car is faster since we put in the chip and throttle body. How much faster? I'm not really sure.

My friend has a '95 hatchback with an LS-VTEC with SiR pistons, SiR transmission, SiR head, "gay" intake and a 2.5 inch custom exhaust.

When we take off at 80 kph (50 mph), he's in third and I'm in second and he will pull half a car and it takes me all the way to 180 kph (112 mph) to be nose to nose with him.

He's got three people total in his car and I'm alone in my car!

I feel slow.

He says with my setup I should be doing low 14s.

Really? You sure about that? Honestly i'd be far more inclined to believe you lost power with that chip and you need to recalibrate your butt dyno. Unless you really know what you're doing screwing around with your vtec engagement point is rarely going to net you any more power. Also As B18C5-EH2 stated EG6s are heavy, you don't say what your friend has for a hatch, but if its a CX, VX or DX is going to be much lighter, and the LS-Vtec thats in it will be making more power than the B16 you have. Also, slow down, I do realize your from quebec and everyone drives pretty insane, but 180 is kinda pushing it. thanks to NOFX for making the OPs post legible enough that I could understand it.

i wasn't saying that he's stupid because he can't spell or use proper punctuation. i am saying he is a dumb *** for racing from 80kmh to 180kmh on PUBLIC roads. i don't know the exact MPH it would be but if he says 80kmh is like 50mph then 180kmh has got to be around 120 mph...

that's pretty freakin' fast to be driving on the highway or any public road. and i hope he gets caught doing so, so that his "fast and the furious" days will be over.

anyway other then looking like a ricer artard i don't think this thread is going in the direction i thought it would!!!

but i do appreciate people who try to steer my in the right direction by saying to put b16b pistons and get it tuned properly ....

but to get back to the subject my friend has a si hatch with sunroof and almost full interior but no power windows and no spare, jack, rear carpet , no ac , no power steering , no cruise control, etc ......

i removed
sound deadening
ac
power steering
spare tire and jack

i dont have abs
cruise control
nor a sun roof

i do have
power windows
power folding mirrors
full jdm plastic interior

I don't think my car is the fastest p.o.s around nor do i want it to be but i want it to be fun , reliable and clean as hell !

this winter i am redoing the body . just bringing her back to brand new .
i know i half to change my timing belt and i wanna put hasport mounts but what else should i put as maintenance items on my car
it has 110 000 km on it ...

It sounds like your gearing might be a little on the tall side. Is a new gearset out of the question? Get something a little tighter, something that'll keep you higher up in the rev range when you go from one gear to the next.

180 km/h = 111.8 mph.. That isn't even at the top of 4th gear, on the highway that doesn't seem that "fast", but on a public road yes. That's just my .02

i dont think id change gears ...im already rolling 4000 rpm at 120 km/h ...witch kinda sucks gas wise but watever ...the gearing feels fairly tight to me .....

anybody wave sugestions about a good tod/piston/cam combo for all motor b16 retaining a decent idle and decent hp gains

i don't want vtec killer cams or something too aggressive, it has to be street able

and for the 180km/h it takes 5 to 8 seconds from 80 to 180 then we slow down to 115km/h ...only in places we know we wont get caught

i'm not the type of douche racer that zigzags trough traffic and i don't race on small roads i often go to the drag strip and try out my car

You're is just a contraction it's not slang. To the OP: get a bigger motor or boost if you want to be fast. Theres not much to be had going NA unless you spend a lot.
