Im selling a 1993 Civic EX with a JDM OBD1 B16A. First I'd like to share some history about the car. I had only put 12,XXX miles on the swap before moving from Washington to Arizona. My first week in Arizona was a flash flood and I ended up sucking water into my intake. The car completely died, but I never heard any breaks or grinds before the car shut off and would not crank over.. After this happen I pushed the car to my apartment complex and waited for the storm to pass.
I removed the spark plugs and fuel injector fuse and cranked the car over a few times. A decent amount of water squirted out of the spark plug holes. I left my hood up and began draining the oil. After letting it sit like this a few hours I put the spark plugs back in, fuse back in, and changed the oil filter/added new oil. The car started up, but the engine made this knocking sound. Less than a minute running I shut the car off and checked the oil. The new oil turned into a chocolate milkshake color again, so I went out and picked up another oil filter/new oil. When I started the car up this time it still made a knocking sound but it was a lot quieter than the first time. I let run for 1-2 minutes and shut it off, I went inside and decided to call my insurance company.
My insurance company did whatever they could to make sure I got the lowest amount of money possible for the vehicle. They prolonged my claim for nearly 2 months, until they had some one come out and listen to the sound. The knocking sound is believed to be a bent rod, but nothing was confirmed. The cars been started 3 times and ran for less than 2 minutes each time since the incident. I wanted to keep the car and continue it as my project/hobby, but Ive decided to join the military and I have no place to put her while I'm away. My old neighbor offered me $2000 for the car if I couldn't find any other buyers.
I hope some one on here is interested in buying and eventually finishes the project!
If your interested I can be reached at (360) 333 0631,
Jeff
