Default ebay exhaust?

what do guys think about this? my stock exhaust is rusted through almost everywhere and sounds terrible. the exhaust shop wanted $130 to replace it with a one pice "home made" one. i hate seeing one piece exhausts. this would look better, but what about the sound? i would be using either a cat or a resonator along with it. raspy? rice?

Had that same exhaust on my 93 coupe with a JDM B16A swap in it....that exhaust is LOUD even with the silencer in, when you take it out...forget about it. People will hear you from a mile away, at least thats what they used to tell me lol

i have that exhaust from that same seller.

I didn't think it was that loud after I installed it. I've heard much louder for sure.
I have 15g turbo , stock cat, so the turbo and cat probably quiet it down alot.
Kind of a loud deep drone when i down shift. Silencer is quieter, but uglier.
i don't have it on right now.
But no bumblebee noise or anything annoying like that with my setup.

what i suggest is get the exhaust system, and the if you don't like the sound, get a new axle back like greddy sp2 or vibrant and add it to ur setup.

2.5 piping??? first, your gonna lose back pressure which in turn your gonna lose power. unless your boosted. second, gonna be loud as hell! 2.5 is big! third, (this is just my opinion) i don't like those mufflers on civics or integras... they look ricy and bad

now if you stil want it because YOU like the styling and don't mind the drop in back pressure and don't want it to be loud, i recommend a good resonator. that will be another 50 - 60 bux depending on the shop and how much they charge for the res and install.

where your powerband falls, and the necessary amount of back pressure come from the header design, not the exhaust. Everything after the header is only restriction.

This is slightly OT, but it seems like a lot of people don't know the difference between back pressure and flow restriction. The two terms are NOT to be interchanged.

I AM WEASEL is very correct in his post above.

There are good online write-ups that detail the causes and effects of back pressure, and they're not hard to find.

really? ima look it up right now, but i always believed that the restriction in the mid section and muffler end created a substantial amount of back pressure that resulted a change in the power band. (for NA motors for that matter.)

my comment though about a res for the exhaust WILL greatly improve the loudness of the exhaust and most likely get rid of any rasp if he has an after market header.

LOL ok man, happy to help. Those vids were with the silencer out, though the silencer didnt make it any quieter really anyways.
