car alarm broke doors stuck locked
i bought my eg with an alarm system in it it recently stoped working. when i turned the key it locked me in and when i turned it off it unlocked then one day i turn it off and my doors wont unlock how or what can i do to unlock my doors. can i hook the wires that go to my door to a 12v spot or how do i make it unlock plz someone help i feel like bo duke climing in the window all the time im sick of it
have you tried moving the lock lever with your hand? or using the key in the door keyhole? alot of civics dont have power door locks. i fail to see how your manual lock mechanism would work any differently if the power is not working.
Like JSPECSIR said, you should be able to use the manual mechanism to unlock the door (right next to the interior handle). Sometimes people disable the mechanism to make it harder to break in. You should be able to take off the door panel and see whats needed to reconnect everything. The locking system isn't too terribly complicated.
well they disconected the lock/unlock lever in the car and i tryed with my key and it wont unlock. there are 2 wires that go from the alarm into the doors

BE VERY CAREFUL DOING THIS IF THE WIRES FROM YOUR BATTERY SHORT OUT THEY CAN CATCH ON FIRE AND BURN YOU/CAR. hope this helps.

You say, "there are 2 wires that go from the alarm into the doors " so I would assume the power door locks are aftermarket and the relays for lock/unlock are "built in" to the alarm, the two leads go to the actuator, cut the two leads from the alarm, ground one lead to cars chassis and supply 12V+ to the other lead, if door does not unlock, reverse the polarity, [ground the other lead to the chassis and supply 12V+ to the other one] door will unlock one way or the other.
I guess I don't have to tell you what a PITA disconnecting door lock linkage can be, and if you think about it, kind of pointless as a security measure, unless of coarse you have some sort of ballistic glass, and you do know a crook will just bust your window to get in.

see that what i thought i tryed applying 12v to one and grounding the other and it did nothing ill go try it both ways again thanx for the help ill let u know if it works out
i reccomend using a baseball bat to get you into the car preferably one of the windows, as both the windshield and back glass are a pain to get through, just be warned that you'll be cleaning up for hours afterwards getting all the shards outta your seats.
have you tried the trunk key hole? It shouldnt have anykind of bypass to it, and the key should still work to allow you to crawl inside.
If you could tell me the year and body style of your car I could give you an easier way to get inside without doing as much damage to your window.

If supplying power and ground to the two leads going to the door lock actuators does not work, it could be that the actuators are burnt out.

yep they are burnt out but i pulled the top of the door pannel away from the door and reached in and unlocked both doors and then i reconected the regular locks that were all just disconected but the rods were still in there
