Default 91 Hybrid..need Htech members help here.

OK...posted this in the Accord forum, but figured it is an H series motor, So maybe the Prelude gods could help me out.

Engine: H22a1
Year: 1995
Trans: 5 spd
Car Year - 91 Accord

NOw here is my problem.
The car will not idle right, surges back and forth. From 100-1300 up and down, then stop. I think it is a vaccum leak, but I dont want to plug away. I snapped picture of my engine, and I saw a couple lose connections.

I am hoping you guys can help me out. I just replaced the cap, rotor, plugs, and wires. Checked timing, reset ECU. It does hesitate when slowing pressing in gas.

HELP!!!

Thanks
Rob

Sure sounds like a vacuum leak... What ECU are you using?

might be a fast idle valve. my h23 motor is starting idle weird when i start it up but then goes away after a while. My buddy had this problem on his integra and fixed it with a new idle valve. could be a vacuum leak though.

the thing that you ask what it was, im not sure the name but it one of the things that controles the idle. it should connect to the intake, not intake manifold.

but i dont think that is the prob, but try it first. i think the prob is with the cold start valve or something like that. on the block near the coil there is a little hose that coolant runs out of, it then goes into the tb, out the tb into the thing below the thing you asked what it was, then it goes back into the block. sorry i dont have the tech names im sure somone does.

the hose that you have labeled as loose vacum hose is also loose in my car and it is causing the car to hesitate pretty bad while driving.....if that is the problem then you need to find a place that can weld alluminum

The "what does this do" and the "Why is this not connected?" is your idle problem.

That's the idle control you have to run a vacuum line from there to a hole in the intake about 3 inches from the thottle body. My AEM came with the hole already and a plug for it.
