Default Dash light issue......

2000 Honda CR-V EX 5 spd

Ok so I have been having some issues with the dash lights in my CR-V. About 2 weeks ago it blew the inside fuse. I replaced it and they worked great for about a week so I though nothing off this.

About a week later my newer battery die completely when the car sat for 2-3 days. Jumped it off and it charged back up and I have not had anymore issues with that.

As of about a week ago the gauge lights are not working again.

Well tonight I had a little time to look at it and here is what I came up with.

-The under hood fuse and the one inside are good.

-When I turn the lights on the climate control and clock dim as normal

-I pulled the cluster out and checked a few lights on it and they are good

-I pulled the dimmer switch out and used a wire as a jumper to bypass it and nothing change, this leads me to think the switch is good.

I am stumped, what else can I try? I looked and the wires on the aftermarket radio and they all look good. I did have the dimmer wire connected but disconnected it just to be sure the radio was not the cause.

Has the car ever been wrecked? The dash lights are connected to the marker lights on the outside of the vehicle. An intermittent short will blow that fuse.
