1999 honda civic si
I been had my 99 honda civic SI for a while now and i been thinking about removed my old block and replace them with a b18c1 block but keep the b16a2 head what is the power different? with b16a2 block and a b18c1 block? later on i want to put a turbo on them and i want to have like over 20 psi of boots should i keep my b16a2 block just change the piston/rod or replace them with b18c1 block will it be a lot faster then the b16a2 block or is about the same? please help me save time and money!
Your post is hard as hell to read. But I think what you want to know is if a b18 block wil have more power than a b16? If so then yes. b18 has more displacement. and makes more power to start with.
a b18 block will not make way more power... if ur going all motor it will make some more power but not a lot. but if your going turbo i dont see the need to change the blocks out especially if your shooting for high boost the horsepower numbers rnt going to be to dif. from a b16 to b18 bottom.

GsR block has a lower dome piston vs a higher dome p30 pistons in the b16a2
Now, GsR head has a smaller higher compression combustion chamber vs b16
lower compression. in other words you will lower the compression on that GsR block, and will probably loose power if compared to its original set up, that is b18c1
Now if compare to b16a1 my guess will be yes you will make more torque and may be horsepower.
As turbo, I think it will be ok low dome pistons with a better flow b16 head
I can see the math!!!!
not a good idea for all motor
sleeve the block and use better rods and a good tuning etc.etc.etc.

No seriously though I understand that you don't have to be a scholar to build a car, but a guy who wants to build a 400whp boosted set-up doesn't have a basic grasp of grammar/English to even compose coherent questions.
Anyways someone already touched on a few key points:
B16A head on a GS-R block will yield slightly more power, much more torque, but it still won't run as well as your basic stock GS-R engine due to the compression loss since the B16A head has larger combustion chambers than a stock GS-R head.
If you are REALLY planning on a 400whp boost build (like every other new members "is") then you must be baller enough to simply buy a completely separate engine and build it while you continue driving your car as-is. I'd buy another engine altogether and build it for boost, then drop it in once you've got all the turbo pieces together.

the b18 has 12.5% more displacement than the b16. so its possible to have that much more power. you see that with the stock motors: b16a2=160hp, b18c1=180hp. But mister civic buc guy, thats just bees mys reasonings.

I could have sworn that the B18C1 has 170 HP, (it does, I'm just being an ******* just to correct your wrong
) Besides that fact, from what I understand, an ITR engine is a B18C block, a B16A head (PR3), and some trick engine internals. To get the full potential from the nasty combination of B16A head/B18C block, you have to put good valvetrain components and decent engine internals, (pistons, rings, rods, etc.) I plan on doing this build over the winter so I will post up everything from the pre-build dyno on I/H/E to the end result. Watch for the build coming soon...
